2nd Time Training

Started out tonight with some streches, bear crawls, rolls and a couple other things. Don got into teach some moves like how to escape a kimura and making them tap while escaping. Another thing that was taught was how to get out of a kimura from north and south position and getting an armbar out of it. Rolling time comes around and my first roll is against someone of my size. I absolutely can not get my short legs around him. I did however pull off a Cross Arm Lapel Choke and showed him how to do it. A minute later he got me in the same move I just showed him. Second roll came around and I was up against someone smaller but much more experienced. We were rolling and I was in survival mode without trying to crush him with my weight or use power. I ended up only submitting him once with a Cross Arm Lapel Choke. The rest of the time with him was me trying to pass guard, me getting swept, etc. Third roll session comes and I'm against a blue belt who really knows his stuff. I got put in an armbar right away. He then showed me how to do it and we drilled that for a minute or two. Then he tried to fight back and I got the armbar. The rest of the time I got submitted and tried to make him not grab my gi.

The class ended with everyone shaking hands and I bought a protein drink from Don and went on my way.

It was a great class and I can't wait for the next one. The addiction has set in!

First Taste of Jiu Jitsu

I took the plunge and decided to join jiu jitsu. I went down to Mica and Don academy on Monday. I talked
to Don Charley (the instructor and world champ) and ended up joining after watching some of the class that was held that night.

I start my official training on Saturday.

I can hardly wait.
